Description
A striking vintage carved wooden folk chair, with a tall narrow back, low seat and three-legged construction. The timber is richly patinated, with hand-cut scalloped edges, pierced detailing and simple incised leaf motifs running through the back and seat.
Its slightly primitive construction and decorative carving give it the feel of a traditional Welsh birthing or fireside chair, designed as much for character as function.
A sculptural piece that works beautifully as an occasional chair, bedside piece or simply as an object in its own right.
Condition: Very good with signs of age.
