Description
A wonderfully playful late-1990s mechanical corkscrew known as ‘The Bug’.
Crafted from chrome-plated metal, its decorative concertina mechanism resembles a grasshopper or winged insect.
As the upper handle is turned, the articulated body expands to remove the cork—making it both a functional bar tool and a brilliant piece of kinetic design.
Reportedly created around the Millennium, its witty insect form references the much-discussed “Millennium Bug”.
Marked ‘The Bug’.
Condition: Good vintage condition with light surface marks consistent with age and use. The mechanism works as intended.
Dims:approximately 15.2 cm long when closed and 21.5 cm when fully extended.
